Whether basking in the sun, dining al fresco in the cool shade beneath the ground’s canopy of ancient eucalyptus and mesquite trees, or just relaxing with a book along side the peaceful, sheltered fish pond, this villa provides the ideal headquarters for your Corsican adventure.

Property Interior

Up the gentle steps and through the tiled entry way, the moment you set foot into this Corsican haven you’re wrapped in the rich décor of a Parisian design studio. Like a crown upon the hilltop, this villa is adorned throughout with extraordinarily hand painted borders and locally themed ornamentation. The double-sized sea-themed living area – with direct access to the fully equipped, modern kitchen – provides ample space to host a spring formal dinner, an impromptu fall evening of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, or a late winter night of card games and cognac beside the toasty fire place. Open the French doors and embrace the cool, twilight breeze, and step out onto terrace and toast the summer sun as it completes its daily journey across the Mediterranean sky. Retire for the night in one of three well appointed bedrooms – each comfortably furnished with oversized queen beds – just down the hall from two substantial bathrooms, with separate water closets.

Seated on the northwestern coast of the Balagne (one of Corsica’s mountainous regions), modern-day Ile Rouse was founded as a port city in 1758. Featuring the most temperate climate in Corsica, Ile Rouse is celebrated for its abundant, sandy white beaches, and regarded for its charming cafes, restaurants and night life. Ile Rouse and its neighboring villages boast a blend of French and Italian sensibilities, yet retain their uniquely Corsican flair. The Balagne, often referred to as “the garden of Corsica,” is dotted with numerous, ancient cobble-stoned towns, including the lovely Pigna and Corbara. Like Ile Rouse, these villages are well known for their numerous local crafts and culinary delights, and the entire region is noted as the birthplace for many of Corsica’s longest held traditions.
