Rue Richelieu, Palais Royal, 75001, Paris
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 5th floor (French) with an elevator
Metro Stops: Palais Royal (line 7), Musee du Louvre (line 1), Pyramides (line 7)

EXPERIENCE LIFE IN THE CULTURAL HEART OF THE CAPITAL – THE QUARTER OF THE PALAIS ROYAL

The 1st arrondissement needs little introduction for those even having only a slight familiarity with Paris. It is the heart and center of the metropolis and ideally located within this center is the quarter of the Palais Royal and the rue de Richelieu. This apartment is a very brief walk to the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden and only steps to the Palais Royal itself. Situated on the 5th floor (French) in a 19th century building, up to 4 guests can be accommodated with modern comfort in a well-appointed setting. The flat measures 63 square meters (668 square feet) and looks out onto an inner courtyard. Its living/dining area is warm and welcoming and features an ornamental fireplace. The kitchen is separate, modern and furnished with quality appliances. A great deal of attention has been given to the renovation of the tiled bathroom, which includes an extra large washbasin and an angled soaking tub with shower.  A queen size bed in the separate bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room provide sleeping accommodations. There is also access to a small terrace. The quarter itself offers an assortment of restaurants, bistros, cafes and boutiques not only along the rue des Petits Champs which boarders the 2nd arrondissement but around the Place du Marche Saint Honore. Two treats not to be overlooked are the Grand Vefour restaurant within the arcade of the Palais Royal along the rue de Beaujolais and the Grand Colbert brasserie on the rue Vivienne.

The 1st arrondissement is the geographic center of the Capital and is considered to be its cultural heart as well. Known as the “Spine” of Paris, metro line 1 bisects Paris from the Bois de Vincennes to the Bois de Boulogne and joins major tourist sites from the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Garden, the Place de la Concorde to the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. Not far from the direct line of the metro and all within close proximity are to be found the Palais Royal, the luxury fashion houses and jewelers of the Place Vendome and the very up scale shopping area of the rue Saint Honore. These sites are to name only some of the offerings of the 1st district. Additional places of interest include the Eglise St. Roch with its noontime recitals, the Comedie Francaise and of course the splendid rue de Rivoli itself. Other establishments consist of an array ranging from tiny bistros and cafes to some of the most prestigious restaurants Paris has to offer.
